Montgomery County Department of Police (MCP) said detectives arrested Jeriel Demitri Martin, 33, in connection with the fatal shooting on Labor Day in downtown Silver Spring of Jamar Emmanuel Jenifer, 34, of Washington, D.C.
According to MCP, detectives identified Martin as the suspect who shot and killed Jenifer, obtaining a search and seizure warrant against Martin.
Detectives arrested Martin in his home in Silver Spring on Friday, charging him with first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony/violent crime, according to the press release. Items connecting Martin to Jenifer’s homicide were recovered.
Martin is being held without bond at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
