Police said a man died in a downtown Silver Spring shooting on Labor Day.
Jamar Emmanuel Jenifer, 34, of Washington, D.C., was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).
Police and fire rescue personnel responded to the 8000 block of 13th St. at about 9:42 a.m. on Monday. Officers found Jenifer in an alley with apparent gunshot wounds, according to police. He was pronounced dead.
There are currently no suspects in custody, according to police as of Tuesday afternoon. Detectives are actively investigating the homicide.
