Original: Police said a man died after a shooting Sunday in Gaithersburg.
Gaithersburg Police and county fire and rescue personnel responded to the 18700 block of North Frederick Ave. at about 5:11 a.m. Sunday for a reported shooting, according to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).
According to police, officers found a man with an apparent gunshot wound. The man succumbed to his injuries at a hospital. Police said the name of the decedent will be shared after notifying next of kin.
An autopsy will officially determine cause and manner of death. The investigation is ongoing.
