Police said a man is in custody following a barricade situation in Silver Spring Tuesday morning.
According to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD), officers responded to the 14000 block of Castle Boulevard at 2:25 a.m. for reported shots fired. Police asked anyone in the 14000 block of Castle Boulevard and all of Castle Ridge Circle to shelter in place and said they were “working an active scene with a barricaded person.”
Close to 9:30 a.m., police said the barricade situation was safely resolved, a man is in custody and the shelter in place is lifted.
No county public schools were closed or had delayed openings due to the barricade, according to a Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) spokesperson.
