
The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is investigating a homicide after a man was found shot in a Silver Spring parking lot.
3rd District officers and the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) responded to reports of a shooting in the 2700 block of Fairdale Terrace at approximately 11:04 a.m. Saturday, March 8, according to police.
When officers arrived, they found Jonah Kimindo Mutua, 23, of Silver Spring, unresponsive in the parking lot with apparent gunshot wounds.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore determined the manner of death was a homicide.
The investigation is ongoing.
