Montgomery County COVID-19 Statistics for Feb. 11
The Maryland Department of Health reported 159 new COVID-19 cases in Montgomery County Thursday morning. The county’s cumulative case count is currently 61,160
Montgomery County recorded three new coronavirus-related fatalities Thursday, bringing the death toll to 1,319.
The county has a rolling seven-day average of 4.39% for positive COVID-19 tests, which is a decrease of 0.25 from Wednesday’s average rate of 4.64%. The positivity rate continues to drop and for the second straight day, the rate is below 5%. Only seven jurisdictions in Maryland — Allegany County (4.32%), Baltimore City (3.03%), Baltimore County (4.09%), Calvert County (4.25%), Garrett County (3.42%), Howard County (4.31%) and Kent County (1.57%) — have a lower rate.
With 1,319 COVID-19 related fatalities, Montgomery County leads the state in fatalities but not in total cases. Prince George’s County has the most coronavirus cases in the state with 70,465 cases and 1,252 fatalities.
Somerset County located on Maryland’s Eastern Shore has the most cases per capita cases in the state with 90.7 cases per 1,000 residents. Allegany County in the western region of the state has the second-highest cases per capita at 90 cases per 1,000 residents.

Thursday the state recorded 1,199 new infections. The state’s cumulative case count is now 367,865.
There are 1,272 patients hospitalized for COVID-19 across the state as of Thursday morning.
Thursday the state recorded 21 newly reported deaths, bringing the state death toll to 7,288.
The state reported a rolling seven-day average of 5.08% for positive COVID-19 tests Thursday. This is a decrease of 0.24 from Wednesday’s rate of 5.32%. The state’s positivity has been below 6% for two weeks since Jan. 29.
