The Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service (MCFRS) was part of a large contingent of people Monday who honored the life of fallen firefighter Trevor Brown.
Brown, who served in the Sterling Volunteer Fire Department in Loudoun County, Va., died during a home explosion in Feb. 16. He was 45, married with three children.
First responders choose a life of service and sacrifice. Tragically it can be one of ultimate sacrifice. Trevor Brown was an extraordinary professional and a loving husband and father. Today's Celebration of Life was attended by an outpouring of our caring community. pic.twitter.com/rDbIQLrlVr

As is custom, several fire departments in the area, including MCFRS, offered mutual aid to Loudoun County during the ceremony. MCFRS’s AT708, primarily respondent to Gaithersburg and Washington Grove, and PE706 of Bethesda covered duties in Leesburg.
Thousands were on-hand to honor Brown, including Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, who spoke during the proceedings.
