Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Superintendent Dr. Monifa McKnight is back on the job since recuperating at home after she was hospitalized.
“I would also like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the many of you who sent well-wishes as I returned home and continued recuperating from hospitalization,” McKnight wrote in part of a message to all staff this past Friday. “I have since returned to work, and it is wonderful to feel the energy of Montgomery County Public Schools again.”
An acting superintendent was named about two weeks ago as McKnight told staff she was dealing with a medical condition that required hospitalization. She told staff in a letter Oct. 20 that MCPS Chief Operating Officer Brian Hull would be acting superintendent while she was home getting better.
