On Monday, Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) begins a new school year. But for many in the MCPS community, the 2023-24 academic year is still fresh in their minds. But for all the wrong reasons.
Last year proved very tumultuous featuring numerous cases of hateful graffiti, parent protests, a sexual harassment scandal and the resignation of the system’s superintendent.
Now with a new superintendent at the helm, there is hope for a better year and a better future but there is still much work to do and trust to regain.
