Montgomery County Police Department’s Major Crimes Division is asking the public for information they may have about a shooting and robbery that occurred Sunday morning in Gaithersburg.
An MCPD news release says officers from the Gaithersburg police district responded to a call Sunday at around 6 a.m. about a shooting that occurred in the 9000 block of Emory Grove Road. When officers arrived, they located a male victim, 31, suffering from gunshot wounds, police said. Police did not provide the name of the man, but said he was taken to a nearby hospital “in stable condition.”
Police describe events leading up to the incident saying, the man had been outside his home when he was approached by three men in masks. One of the masked men asked the male victim for money and his car keys. After the man complied with the demands, police say “one of the suspects shot him multiple times before fleeing the location.”
MCPD detectives ask residents who live in the area to check home surveillance footage to see if they may have video of suspects fleeing the scene. Anyone with footage or other information about this incident can contact the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.
