The Montgomery County Public Libraries announced Monday that book drops are opening on June 29. The libraries also announced that branch telephone services will be resuming on June 29 as well.
Book drops will be available to return any books and materials that residents have been holding since March, except for the Noyes and Long Branch libraries. However, fines are still suspended for those who aren’t comfortable visiting the library yet.
Although the public libraries are not yet open to the public, they are expected to be included in Phase 3 of the economic recovery. The MCPL system has continued to hold virtual events as coronavirus keeps kids from attending in-person programs.
On July 6, the MCPL will also begin offering contactless pick up services. Montgomery County residents can place items on hold online or by phone, and make an appointment to pick them up in the library.
