Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) in partnership with NAACP will be hosting the 15th annual HBCU College Fair.
The free college-readiness fair is scheduled for Friday, Feb 17 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Universities at Shady Grove in Rockville. Students in grades 8-12 are encouraged to attend.
A panel of representatives from more than 50 Historical Black College Universities (HBCUs) will share information and answer questions for students and parents regarding admissions, financial aid, and more. FAFSA completion assistance, scholarship information, and further college preparation discussions will be offered through workshops.
High school seniors may register to meet with college admission representatives via Zoom on Feb. 13 through 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Acceptance offers may be provided to qualified seniors on the spot. Students should register for interviews with their schools’ College & Career Information Coordinators.
The fair allows for not only an exciting opportunity for aspiring students to engage with top universities including Morehouse College, Florida A&M University, Spelman College, and more, but celebrates the unique experience of HBCU student life.
More information and links to register can be found on the MCPS Historically Black Colleges and Universities Fair webpage.
