Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) holds its annual ‘Drive for Supplies’ event on Friday, July 14, at Clarksburg High School.
Every summer, MCPS distributes new and gently used school supplies to Montgomery County families in need. The supplies are collected and donated by MCPS students and staff as they clean out lockers and classrooms at the end of the school year.
From 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., Montgomery County students, families, and nonprofit agencies may pick up free supplies for students who need them. Clarksburg High School is located at 22500 Wims Road.
According to MCPS, the ‘Drive for Supplies’ program is a collaboration with Learn Shop, Inc. that gives students an opportunity to directly support their schools and communities by donating their reusable school supplies while it teaches them how they can help preserve their environment by recycling and reducing waste.
