Governor Larry Hogan announced on Thursday that local school districts can and should return to in-person instruction. However, Montgomery County Public Schools issued a statement saying, due to short notice, they will begin the school year in a virtual-only instructional model on Monday, August 31, as scheduled.
The ‘MCPS Give Backpacks Campaign‘ is providing school supplies for virtual learning so students can have access to the tools they need to be successful. $10 helps provide a student in need with supplies, which includes paper, crayons, pencils, and more. MCPS officials say there are more than 60,000 students that could benefit from these supplies
