Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) offers free COVID-19 testing to students to help mitigate transmission. The school district lists testing as an important strategy for keeping schools open and students and staff safe while minimizing the number of people in quarantine.
MCPS says there are two types of COVID-19 testing available. Rapid tests – which are used when a student exhibits COVID-19 symptoms during the school day – and screening tests given weekly to a random sample of students with no COVID-19 symptoms. Parents or guardians must provide consent for testing.
MCPS Communications Specialist Melissa Rivera Pabón explains the “Say Yes to the Test” campaign and which grade levels are currently the primary focus.
MCPS is working with several community organizations to host a Say Yes to the Test Day information fair and event at Paint Branch High School from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9. More information: https://t.co/jYX8qzQKtO
