Sarah Katherine Magid, a first-grade teacher at Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), was arrested Monday in connection with the March death of a Washington, D.C. man from fentanyl toxicity.
Magdi, 34, of Burtonsville, was taken into custody without incident following a search of her home by Montgomery County Police and special agents from the U.S. Drug Enforcement (DEA).
During an investigation, Montgomery County police detectives and DEA specialists learned that the victim was in Montgomery County “in the days leading up to their death” and that a person identified as Sarah had been in contact with him
She was charged with distribution of fentanyl, which is a felony, as well as other drug charges.
Magdi was ordered held without bond Tuesday. A preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 13.
In 2021, Magid entered a guilty plea for driving a vehicle while impaired by a controlled dangerous substance.
MCPS did not yet respond to a request to see if Magid was still an employee in the district.
