Thanks to The McSisters Foundation, members of the Dazzling Divas now have their own uniforms, travel bags and practice gear.
Not everyone on the dancing team could afford the fancy outfits their competitors had. Some dropped off the team, others kept at it.
Then, at the end of September, Derrick Tibbs, founder of McSisters, gave the girls what they had only dreamed of ever owning.
Tibbs created the McSisters Foundation to help young people who didn’t have the proper shoes for track or cleats for football, he explained. His foundation also donates money to schools so needy students can have enough to eat each day.
The dancers range in age between four and 18 and practice in Germantown but are seeking an indoor place to practice.
The foundation receives its money through grants and donations.
