Metro has announced that Red Line track work will shutter service between Grosvenor-Strathmore and Friendship Heights stations through Aug. 14.
The closure comes following a week-long project at Takoma Park Station, which has halted service between Fort Totten and Silver Spring through Aug. 1.

Beginning Aug. 2, free shuttle bus services will replace trains between Grosvenor-Strathmore and Friendship Heights, making stops at both Medical Center and Bethesda stations.
Customers should add an additional 20 minutes to travel time for trips through Red Line work zones. Riders should also continue to board through rear bus doors amid COVID-19.
