Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) will welcome Rachel Renée Russell and Nikki Russell to the Gaithersburg Library. The mother-daughter team behind the popular Dork Diaries series will appear on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 1:30-6 p.m. The event celebrates the 16th book in the series.
Rachel Renée Russell is the No. 1 New York Times best-selling author of Dork Diaries. Her daughter, Nikki Russell, illustrates the series. Together, they have released 19 consecutive New York Times bestsellers. Dork Diaries has more than 55 million copies in print and has been translated into 42 languages.
The event, hosted in partnership with the Gaithersburg Book Festival and Friends of the Library, Montgomery County (FOLMC), is free, but registration is required. Registration opens Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 10 a.m., and space is limited. Parents must accompany children under age 8.

The event will start at 1:30 p.m. with book sales. The Russells will discuss their creative process from 2-3 p.m., followed by a Q&A session. A book signing will take place from 3-6 p.m. Only books purchased at the event can be signed.
