The Glen Echo Fire Department and the Chabad of Bethesda invites families to celebrate the first night of Hanukkah Thursday, Dec. 7. They will host a menorah lighting followed by a firetruck parade starting at 5:30 p.m.
The parade will start at the Glen Echo Fire Station, located at 5920 Massachusetts Avenue in Bethesda and will proceed through the community. The parade will stop at Brookmont at 6 p.m. and then continue to Glen Echo and Bannockburn, arriving at Chabad of Bethesda at 7 p.m. The Chabad is located at 5324 Goldsboro Road.
The celebration will include hot chocolate, latkes, freshly made donuts, and live music.
The event is free to the public and does not require registration. Families will delight in chocolate gelt, Hanukkah music, and a visit with Judah Macabee.
