The Metrorail and Metrobus unlimited monthly passes are on sale for travel starting July 1, according to a news release by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA).
“As gas prices remain high and people continue to increase travel and commute to work more often, lowering the price of unlimited passes makes Metrorail and Metrobus an even more attractive option for work and pleasure travel throughout the region,” Metro Board Chair Paul C. Smedberg said.
The release also stated that starting June 27, customers using the Metrorail after 9:30 p.m. on weekdays will pay a flat fare of $2 per one-way trip. Smedburg said the $2 flat fare provides savings for service workers and people using Metro to go to and from the region’s nightlife attractions.
More affordable unlimited @Metrorailinfo and @Metrobusinfo passes now on sale; Weeknight $2 Metrorail fares begin Monday.
