Maryland Governor Larry Hogan on Friday appointed Bernice Mireku-North to fill Delegate Eric Luedtke’s vacant seat. Her name was submitted by the Maryland Democratic Committee.
Mireku-North is a former assistant state’s attorney in Anne Arundel County and has her own firm.
She will be seated as a delegate in District 14 on Jan. 11.
“I want to congratulate Bernice Mireku-North on her appointment to the General Assembly, and wish her well in representing the people of Montgomery County,” said Hogan in a news release.
District 14 also is represented by Sen. Craig Zucker, Del. Anne Kaiser and Del. Pam Queen.
