As Princeton’s women’s basketball team gets set to play in the NCAA Tournament this weekend, they’ll be doing soΒ with not just one Montgomery County high school basketball alum…but four.
The 11th seeded Tigers take on 6th seeded Kentucky Saturday at 4 pm in Bloomington, In.

Sophomore Ellie Mitchell of Georgetown Visitation Prep (00), Senior Abby Meyers of Walt Whitman HS (1), Freshman Parker Hill of Winston Churchill HS (22), and Sophomore Chet Nweke of Stone Ridge HS (25) will be suiting up to take on the Wildcats.
They have had a very successful season thus far leading Princeton to the Ivy League championship after a 24-4 season. Before going to Princeton, all had very decorated HS careers in Montgomery County. Their accomplishments go as follows.

- McDonald’s All American nominee
- Team USA in the U16 Trials member
- ESPN Top 100 recruit
Abby Meyers (Whitman)
- McDonald’s All American nominee
- 2-time Montgomery County Player of the Year
- ESPN Top 60 recruit
- Member of State Championship team in 2016.

Chet Nweke (Stone Ridge)
- Montgomery County Player of the Year
- First-Team All-DMV Girls NBC Sports
- Four-time All-League
Meyers won Ivy League Player of the Year after scoring the second-most points per game in the conference at 17.8, leading the conference in three point shooting with 40.9% and was named a finalist for the Beck Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award. She was also All-Ivy First Team and a member of the Academic All-Ivy team.
Mitchell is the Ivy League’s Defensive Player of the Year leading the team the conference in rebounding with 10.3 per game and averaging 2.4 steals per game.
