Montgomery College received $500,000 for students to enroll in workforce programs that will lead to employment.
The Robert I. Schattner Foundation donated the funds for financially-eligible students to earn scholarships of up to $4,000. Students ready to work by the end of the next school year may apply for a Job Training and Certification Scholarship.
Students should apply by Aug. 3 on the Workforce and Continuing Education Career Path Scholarship website. Between 50 and 60 students who are aiming for a career path in specific fields that are listed on the webpage will be awarded the scholarships.
The money will cover tuition, certification exam fees, required books and career navigation for one year.
