Montgomery Community Media Announces Board Leadership Transition

Montgomery Community Media (MCM) announced a leadership transition on its Board of Directors. After serving as Board President for over 10 years, Jeffrey Slavin will step down from his role. Slavin will continue to play an active role on the board as President Emeritus. Tina Patterson, a longtime advocate for community engagement and principal of Jade Solutions LLC, will take over as MCM’s new Board President.

“Jeffrey Slavin has been an exceptional leader and advocate for MCM. His contributions have shaped the organization into the dynamic resource it is today,” said Jasmine White, CEO of MCM. “We are equally thrilled to welcome Tina Patterson as Board President. Her vast experience and dedication to the county make her the ideal person to guide MCM into the future.”

Slavin’s decade of transformative leadership has significantly advanced MCM’s mission. “It has been my honor to lead MCM and work alongside such a talented team. I look forward to contributing to the organization’s growth in this new capacity,” Slavin said.

Patterson brings a wealth of expertise and a fresh perspective. As Founder and Principal of Jade Solutions LLC, she has over 20 years of experience in management consulting, alternative dispute resolution, and community engagement. “I am honored to step into this role and build upon Jeffrey’s incredible legacy,” said Patterson. “MCM plays a crucial role in amplifying the voices of Montgomery County residents and fostering community connections.”

Patterson has supported local and national public engagement efforts with organizations such as America Speaks and the Kellogg Foundation. A graduate of Brown University, Southern Methodist University, and Pepperdine University, she brings extensive experience in the areas of alternative dispute resolution and community engagement, grants management support, project management, and government contracting.

Slavin, Mayor of the Town of Somerset and Co-Director of the Sanford and Doris Slavin Foundation, will continue to bring his passion for social justice and philanthropy to MCM, according to White.

“MCM extends its heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Slavin for his service and warmly welcomes Ms. Patterson. Together, they will continue transforming MCM into a modern, innovative community media hub,” White said.
