Montgomery County COVID-19 Cases Top 3 Thousand, Statewide Cases Exceed 15 Thousand

Montgomery County COVID-19 Statistics

As of Thursday morning, the Maryland Department of Health reports 3,060 cases of COVID-19 in Montgomery County, which is an increase of 192 cases from the 2,868 cases reported Wednesday. This is the largest daily increase in cases since 200 new cases were reported on April 16.

The health department reports that 121 Montgomery County residents have died from COVID-19. This is an increase of 11 deaths since Wednesday. The state also reports the number of probable deaths which have not yet been confirmed with COVID-19 testing. The number of probable deaths is 18.

There is no additional information about the 11 deaths since Wednesday at this time.

Maryland COVID-19 Statistics

As of Thursday morning, Maryland reports 15,737 cases of COVID-19, which is an increase of 962 from the 14,775 cases reported Wednesday. This is the largest increase in cases since April 8 when the number of cases increased by 1,158 in one day.

The total number of deaths in Maryland due to COVID-19 is currently reported as 680, up from 631 on Wednesday. There is no additional information about the 49 deaths at this time.

Of the total Maryland cases, 3,477 were hospitalized at some point in their illness and 1,040 patients have been released from isolation. According to the Maryland Department of Health, there have been 64,363 negative coronavirus tests in the state.

Currently, 1,405 patients are hospitalized in the state. Of those, 890 patients are receiving acute care and 515 patients are receiving intensive care.
