Montgomery County Government announced on Twitter that the Department of Health and Human Services has received its first shipment of 1,600 doses of the Johnson & Johnson/Janssen COVID-19 vaccines.
Unlike the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, only one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is necessary to fight the coronavirus.

Gov. Larry Hogan said at a media briefing on Tuesday that the state of Maryland received an initial allocation of 49,600 doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccines in total for its initial shipment. Hogan said governors were told by the White House that another shipment of the Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be sent to states by March 18.
