Two county-owned parking garages will be free temporarily to support county residents during the COVID-19 emergency.
The Montgomery County’s Department of Transportation (MCDOT) announced that both garages will temporarily not require payment to alleviate the financial impact. According to a press release, “The free parking options reflect County Executive Marc Elrich’s pledge to help residents who face financial difficulties in response to emergency closures impacting local jobs.”
The two garages that will provide temporary free parking include the Bonifant/Dixon garage at 1101 Bonifant St. in Silver Spring and the Auburn/Del Ray garage at 4910 Auburn Ave. in Bethesda.
The County urges residents to avoid unnecessary travel.
