The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is hosting its annual bicycle donation drive on Friday, Oct. 20 outside the Montgomery County Council Office Building Garage.
The event will run from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine.
In a press release, Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich said, “Donating an unused bike can improve the quality of life of someone in our local community.”
“Bicycles are great exercise, a climate friendly mode of transportation and can ease access to transportation options,” Elrich said.

Bikes donated should be in good condition or only need minor repairs. Rockville Bike Hub volunteers will refurbish the donated bicycles.
MCDOT will take the refurbished bikes and give them to adults or children through the MCDOT Bike Match Program or the Rockville TERRIFIC Bicycle Award program.
The donation event will also accept donations by check. Checks should be made out to the Rockville Bike Hub.
