Montgomery County and surrounding areas are under a tornado watch until 2 p.m. Friday. The National Weather Service advises residents to be alert for rapidly changing weather conditions and to take shelter if a warning is issued.
The NWS issues a watch when weather conditions may produce a severe, life-threatening weather event.
The county is also under a flash flood watch today with thunderstorms and heavy rain expected starting as early as 11 a.m. and expected to continue throughout the afternoon.
