Montgomery Goes Purple is hosting a Fentanyl Awareness Forum in collaboration with Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) on Feb. 25.
The forum will share information on illegally made fentanyl, prevention tools and protective factors for students. There will be Narcan training and a panel discussion. Resources for treatment will be available, if needed.
Following the panel discussion, there will be break out sessions in English and Spanish for parents, caregivers and students. The Community Opioid Prevention and Education’s trailer, a mock team bedroom created to educate on signs of substance abuse, will be available for tours.
The event will be held at the Northwood High School Auditorium from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. The panel discussion will also be live streamed for those who cannot attend in person. COVID-19 vaccinations will be available on site. There will be refreshments.
Those interested in attending can RSVP with MCPS.
