With the official start of spring less than two weeks and Montgomery Parks is offering up more opportunities for a walk, run, or bike ride.
On the weekends from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sligo Creek Parkway and Beach Drive are closed to vehicles and open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The Montgomery County portion of the trail is asphalt, 10.2 miles long and eight feet wide, giving people plenty of room to be socially distant and enjoy fresh air.
Montgomery Parks features over 424 parks all across Montgomery County.
On March 13 Montgomery Parks will be a hosting a Shamrockin’ Run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Rock Creek Regional Park. Registration is free.
