Montgomery County recorded 68 new COVID-19 cases Monday, according to Maryland Health Department data — bringing its cumulative total throughout the pandemic to 19,071.
Since Friday two new deaths were added to the county’s COVID-19 related death toll, which is now 771. Montgomery County has the most fatalities of any county in the state. Only Prince George’s County has a higher number of cumulative infections.
Maryland had 503 new cases on Monday, bringing its total to 100,715. Two new deaths were reported statewide in the last 24 hours.
Forty fewer people were in the hospital for reasons related to coronavirus Monday than the day before. The number of Marylanders currently hospitalized because of COVID-19 was 435, the lowest the count has been since July
Eighteen fewer people were in the hospital for coronavirus-related reasons Thursday than the day before. The number of Marylanders currently hospitalized because of COVID-19 was 470, the lowest the count has been since July 17.
The state’s seven-day rolling average for test positivity was 3.27% on Monday — the lowest rate of the pandemic yet.
