Update: Police identified the decedent as 19-year-old Ezekial Solomon of Silver Spring. According to police, Solomon was driving a 2013 BMW S 1000 RR motorcycle going northbound on Old Georgetown Road. He struck a driver in a 2018 Honda Odyssey who was going south on Old Georgetown and trying to turn left onto eastbound Nicholson Lane.
Original: Police said a motorcyclist died in a collision with a van Saturday in North Bethesda.
Officers and fire rescue personnel responded to the intersection of Old Georgetown Road and Nicholson Lane at about 5 p.m. Saturday for a reported two-vehicle collision with a motorcycle and van, according to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).
Police stated the motorcyclist, a man, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the name of the decedent will be shared after notifying next of kin.
The driver of the van, a woman, stayed on the scene and was uninjured, according to police.
The investigation is ongoing. Detectives ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call 240-773-6620.
