Matt Wasowski and Chris Balakrishnan, co-founders of Nerd Nite, presented “How to Win Friends and Influence Fungi” at the Gaithersburg Book Festival on May 18. Their first book, subtitled “Collected Quirks of Science, Tech, Engineering, and Math from Nerd Nite,” contains a collection of 71 fascinating but admittedly wacky STEM topics.
For 20 years, Nerd Nite has delivered presentations about science, history, the arts, and pop culture to live audiences around the world. There hasn’t been a rabbit hole their army of presenters hasn’t been afraid to explore.
