A new ALDI grocery store is coming to Gaithersburg with a grand opening ceremony set for Thursday, July 25 and a sneak peek the day before.
The ribbon-cutting starts at 9 a.m. Customers can shop in store immediately after the half-hour ceremony, according to the press release.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Aldi to the Walnut Hill community. We are grateful for the investment in the future of our City, as well as the jobs created and the many years of happy shoppers,’ Gaithersburg mayor Jud Ashman told MCM.
“We are very happy to see ALDI opening in the Walnut Hill Shopping Center. We understand that Granite Partners, the developer for the re-imagined Walnut Hill Shopping Center, has invested approximately $10 Million into the site, in addition to annexing the site into the City of Gaithersburg. We value Granite’s significant investment into the City and into our Upcounty business community. We look forward to seeing the Center thrive,” Paula Ross, President and CEO of Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce, told MCM.
The store is located at the Walnut Hill Shopping Center at 737 South Frederick Ave in Gaithersburg.
At the opening, ALDI will hand out golden tickets worth up to $100 and free eco-friendly ALDI goodie bags to the first 100 customers. Customers also have the chance to win a $500 gift card from ALDI.
