Dr. Thomas Taylor recently started his new position as the superintendent for Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS).
MCM talked with Taylor in his office on Thursday to hear his plans and perspectives as he starts leading the state’s largest school system.
MCM will publish a longer interview soon.
Taylor said his top priority right now is to listen. He said he has made some school visits, had meetings with some staff and has gotten out into the community.
A county native, Taylor had his entire K-12 experience in MCPS, graduating from Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School. He was previously superintendent of Stafford County Public Schools in Virginia.
