The temporary members of the Montgomery County Planning Board are off and running and don’t expect any project delays despite the cancellations of three previous meetings due to the forced resignations of the entire board following a vote of no confidence by the Montgomery County Council.
“We are definitely moving forward,” said Tanya Stern, acting planning board director, during Council President Gabe Albornoz’s press briefing Monday.
Jeffrey Zyontz, the acting planning board chair who agreed to serve until June 2023, has worked for the county in land use for almost 50 years. He noted that he was familiar with both much of the planning board’s work and many of the department employees.
