Newly Vaccinated People Can Get a $50 Gift Card to José Andrés’ D.C.-Area Restaurants

Chef José Andrés wants people to get COVID-19 vaccinated and he’s offering $50 gift cards to his Washington, D.C.-area restaurants to those who do.

The celebrity chef and Bethesda resident said that beginning May 8 until 70% of the U.S. is vaccinated, anyone who is newly vaccinated may come to his D.C.-area ThinkFoodGroup restaurants and show their vaccination card to get a $50 gift card.

To be eligible, you must be fully vaccinated and have received your first dose on or after May 8, ThinkFoodGroup Brand Director Jessica Vince told MyMCM in an email. Show your vaccine card at a restaurant, and submit your name, email address and phone number to get the gift card.

Each person can only get one $50 gift card, Vince said. It can be used toward a future dine-in meal within the next 30 days, Monday-Thursday, food only. The gift card is not usable for alcohol, takeout, delivery, third-party sites, gratuity or tax. It cannot be redeemed for cash or replaced if lost/stolen. It is valid at Jaleo DC, Jaleo Crystal City, Oyamel, Zaytinya, China Chilcano and now Spanish Diner in Bethesda, which opened last week. The only ineligible locations in the area are barmini and Beefsteak, Vince said.

According to the CDC, 47.3% of the total U.S. population and 59.7% of adults have received at least one dose as of 6 a.m. Monday. 37% of the U.S. population is fully vaccinated. Early this month, President Joe Biden set a goal to administer at least one vaccine dose to 70% of adults by July 4.

Eligibility Rules
To be eligible for the $50 bonus card, you must be fully vaccinated with your first vaccine occurring on or after May 8, 2021. Please present your vaccine card to redeem. You will need to submit your name, email and phone number in order to receive the card. Each person is only eligible for one $50 card. Your card can be used towards a future meal within the next 30 days, Monday-Thursday for food only.

Card Terms & Conditions
This gift of $50 is valid 30 days from date of issue for dine-in only Monday-Thursday for the purchase of food. It cannot be used for gratuity, tax or alcohol and is not valid for takeout, delivery or any third party sites. This card is for one-time use and cannot be redeemed for cash or replaced if lost or stolen.
