Local Legends The Nighthawks Kick Off Wheaton TGIF Encore Fall Concert Series

Chuck Levin’s Washington Music Center and the Wheaton Arts & Entertainment District are teaming up to present the TGIF Encore Friday night concerts.

The series will kick off with the legendary blues and roots band, The Nighthawks, Friday, Sept 8. The Nighthawks formed in 1974, with founding member and front man Mark Wenner.  The current ensemble includes Wenner on harmonica and vocals, Dan Hovey on guitar and vocals, Paul Pisciotta on bass and Mark Stutso on drums and vocals.

County Executive Marc Elrich will join ceremonies Friday prior to the concert honoring Chuck Levin’s Washington Music Center. Chuck Levin’s is a Wheaton business celebrating its 65th anniversary.

Each Friday features live artist demonstrations and beverages from Twin Valley Distillers. A DJ set will begin at 5 p.m. followed by the live concert at 6 p.m. All events will be held at Marian Fryer Town Plaza near the Wheaton Metro Station. No tickets are required. Parking is available in the Mid-County Regional Services Center building at 2425 Reedie Drive.
