A large tree fell into a house in Takoma Park on Wednesday and narrowly missed a dog inside, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer.
The dog was in a crate, which protected it from injury, Piringer shared on Twitter. There were no humans home at the time.
It occurred Wednesday afternoon in the 6900 block of Cherry Avenue by Sligo Creek Parkway.
There was significant property damage, according to Piringer, and the house was posted as unsafe to occupy.
