Holiday Fine Arts & Crafts Gift Show: Sandy Spring Museum’s annual Fine Arts and Crafts show returns with one-of-a-kind pieces including jewelry, quilts, pottery, and other pieces handmade by local artists. Continues from now through Dec. 22. Regular gift show hours: Mon, Wed, Fri 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Sun noon-4 p.m. Entrance to the market is free. The museum is located at 17901 Bentley Road in Sandy Spring. Winter Lights on the Lakefront: Take a stroll on the Rio lakefront for a sample of Gaithersburg’s Winter Lights festival which opens tonight. Rio is a partner of the City of Gaithersburg’s Winter Lights Festival. Rio is located at 9841 Wasingtonian Blvd in Gaithersburg. For more information, click here.
Shop Small Weekend: The Family Room in Laytonsville is more than just a local store, it is a gathering place with events planned throughout the year. A Christmas Carol: The Charles Dickens classic tale has been adapted and stars Paul Morella. Now in the 14th year at the Olney Theatre, this play has become a favorite Christmas tradition for many theater goers. The plan runs from now through Dec. 31 at various times. $40 – $55. LuminoCity Winter Light Festival: Explore three different themed spaces in this outdoor, holiday-themed light show suitable for the entire family. The event lasts approximately 90 minutes and will run from Friday, Nov. 24 through Jan. 15, 2024. Tickets start at 20. Olney Winter Farmers and Artists Market: In need of fresh foods? Head over to the Olney Farmers Market Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. located at 2801 Olney Sandy Spring Road. More than 10 farmers and 30 artisans showcase their products at the market. For more information, click here.

Kensington Holiday Market: Two local Kensington businesses, Babycat Brewery and Olive & Loom, are partnering for their first holiday market Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be live music, food trucks, and local makers showcasing their art and work. Paint Your Ceramics Class: Interested in creating a hand painted light-up Christmas tree? Sunday at 11 a.m., Rockville’s VisArts class gives students the option to choose a 9.5 or 11 inch tall ceramic Christmas tree.
