The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a flash flood warning until 2:30 p.m. Tuesday for portions of Montgomery County as Tropical Storm Isaias moves quickly through the area. The storm is producing heavy rain and high winds throughout our region. The locations that may experience flooding are Germantown, Rockville, Bethesda, Gaithersburg, Olney, and Damascus.
There are reports of roads closed in Montgomery County due to flooding. Beach Drive between Knowles Avenue and East-West Highway in the Kensington Chevy Chase area is closed. Also, Sligo Creek Parkway between Piney Branch Parkway and Old Carroll Avenue in the Takoma Park area is closed.
A Flood Warning has been issued for a portion of Montgomery County until 2:30pm Tuesday 8/4. Flooding of streams, creeks and low lying areas is occurring or imminent. Do not drive through flooded areas.
