Heritage Month Celebration Party
Germantown

The Recreation Department’s Friday Fun Nights continue with a celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month at the Plum Gar Community Recreation Center from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Enjoy music and delicious food while celebrating diverse histories and cultures. Joseph Holston Art Exhibit
Bethesda

Explore Joseph Holston’s solo exhibit, “Black Lives, A Retrospective,” at the Amy Kaslow Gallery, on display now through Dec. 8. The exhibit chronicles African American life, including themes of terror, triumphs, and the remarkable story of the Underground Railroad. The artist’s finest screenprints, etchings, and oils on canvas depict the daily lives of men, women, and children. Picture Show & Pupusas
Silver Spring

Discover Long Branch sponsors an outdoor movie night featuring Monsters, Inc. Enjoy dinner, music, and the film at Flower Avenue Urban Park. Festivities begin at 6 p.m., with the movie screening at 7 p.m. Pupusas and beverages from local Long Branch businesses will be available for purchase. Peace Walk

The Street Outreach Network partners with Moms Demand Action for the Germantown Community Peace Walk at 10 a.m. Gather at the BlackRock Center for the Arts to raise awareness about gun violence in our community. Distinguished guest speakers, including parents who have tragically lost children to violence, will share their stories. Learn more here.

Fall Festival
Clarksburg

Clarksburg Premium Outlets hosts a Fall Festival from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Enjoy shopping, entertainment, music, face painting, photo opportunities, and pop-ups. Come in costume for Trick-or-Treating from 4 to 6 p.m. Look for Trick-or-Treat signs in store windows. Free admission.  Learn more here.

Halloween Costume Clinic
Rockville

Need help bringing your Halloween costume ideas to life? The Rockville Science Center is holding four one-hour sessions at their Makerspace. Bring your own supplies; some materials like glue and thread will be available, and the Science Center will provide tools and advice. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Sessions are from noon to 1 p.m., 1 to 2 p.m., 2 to 3 p.m., and 3 to 4 p.m. Learn more and sign up for one of the time slots here.

Fall Cleanup at Strathmore Local Park

Montgomery Parks seeks volunteers to help beautify community green spaces, keep litter out of our streams, and protect wildlife. Volunteers are requested to help clean up Strathmore Local Park from 10 a.m. to noon. All cleanups are pre-approved for Student Service Learning hours, and forms will be provided afterward. Fall Festival At North Potomac

Join Montgomery County Recreation for a fall festival at the Nancy H. Dacek North Potomac Community Recreation Center.
