Welcome to MCM’s Weekend Roundup of events in Montgomery County. Here are nine things to do this weekend, October 20-22.
Friday, October 20
Family Fun Night: At the Plum Gar Community Recreation Center, families are invited to enjoy karaoke and play a fast-paced game of Z-Tag. Children under the age of eight must be accompanied by an adult. The event hosted by Montgomery County Recreation runs from 6 to 9 p.m. Free. For more information, click here.
Spooktacular Movie Night: At the Long Branch Community Recreation Center, families are invited to hangout, enjoy popcorn and light refreshments, and watch the movie Coco. The event hosted by Montgomery County Recreation runs from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Free. For more information, click here.
Pumpkin Festival: Butler’s Orchard has offered pumpkin picking fun for more than 40 years. Customers may pick their own pumpkin for .75 cents per pound or buy a pre-picked pumpkin. The annual Pumpkin Festival features hayrides, live music, corn hole games, mazes, and more from now through Oct. 29. Admission starts at $10 per person, register here. Saturday, October 21
Good Hope Fall Festival: Families are invited to enjoy fun fall festivities—moon bounce house, face painting, popcorn, candy apples, music, a pumpkin patch, arts and crafts, food and more from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Good Hope Neighborhood Recreation Center. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Free but registration requested. For more information, click here.
Kensington Farmers’ Market: The Farmers’ Market operates every Saturday year-round from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is located at the historic train station, 3701 Howard Avenue. Free. For more information and a list of participating farmers, click here.
Fall Pumpkin Painting: Bring your family, friends, or grandkids (ages 6+) and have some fun painting pumpkins and gourds from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Rockville Memorial Library, 1st floor lobby meeting room. Sunday, October 22
Chevy Chase Art Walk: Come discover 77 local artists showing their work in 31 homes and studios around Chevy Chase. The walk takes place both Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Free. For more information and a map, click here.
50+ Expo: At the Silver Spring Civic Building, older adults and their loved ones will find more than 100 exhibitors, health screenings and vaccines, giveaways and door prizes. TV and radio personality Tony Perkins is the keynote speaker at the event hosted by The Beacon newspaper. The expo takes place from noon to 4 p.m. For more information, click here.
Takoma Park Farmers Market: The market operates every Sunday year-round with over from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is located behind the shops on Laurel Avenue in historic Takoma Park. Free. For more information and a list of participating farmers, click here.
