An Olney surgical assistant has been charged and arrested with second-degree sexual assault and third- and fourth-degree sexual offenses, according to detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigation Division.
Mir Asadullah Naqvi, 47, allegedly sexually assaulted a female patient after a surgical procedure completed at the Olney Center for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery on April 5, 2021. The victim reported the assault immediately and, following evidence collection, detectives were able to connect the assault to Naqvi.
A warrant for Naqvi was filed on May 5, 2022, and the Ellicot City resident was arrested on May 18. The alleged assailant awaits a bond hearing while being held in the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
SVID detectives hold the belief that there may be additional victims of Naqvi who have not yet contacted the police or filed any claims. Assault survivors and those with relevant information are encouraged to contact the Special Victims Investigations Division at 240-773-5400.
