
Waitress, a musical about three women struggling to get their lives back in order, runs at the Olney Theatre through April 6.
Recently fired or furloughed federal employees or contractors can claim free tickets. The Olney is offering two free walk-up tickets, pending availability, one hour before each performance. Be prepared to share the name of the former department and date of termination or furlough.
The theater also offers discounts for teachers, active military and first responders.
For everyone else, tickets run from $35 to $116 and can be purchased at olneytheatre.org/waitress or by calling the box office at 301-924-3400.
With music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles, Waitress is based upon the movie by Adrienne Shelly. Music is directed by Christopher Youstra. The show is directed and choreographed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge.
As a tie in, Olney Theatre is holding a pie eating and baked pie contest on March 8 at 4:30 p.m.
