Police say one pedestrian is dead and another was seriously injured after they were both struck by a driver in Gaithersburg on Wednesday.
Officers responded to the Muddy Branch Road and King James Way area at about 2:03 p.m. for the reported accident, per the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).
Police said a man and woman were struck by a driver in a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe going southbound on Muddy Branch. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The deceased male pedestrian has been identified as 78-year-old Phillip Kwang Bon Uh of Gaithersburg. The adult female pedestrian, identified as the wife of the deceased, was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
The driver remained on scene. This is an active and ongoing investigation.
