Representation, diversity and women’s role in media were some of the themes discussed at the Women’s History Month event Saturday hosted by Councilmember Laurie-Anne Sayles at the AFI Theatre in Silver Spring.
MyMCM reporters Andrea Sarralde and Suzanne Pollak participated on the panel and had the opportunity to share their own stories and experiences in media. County Cable Montgomery reporter (formerly with MCM) Jordan Lindsay and NPR’s 1A podcast host Jenn White were part of the panel led by Sayles.
The panel discussion took place after attendees watched a documentary called Miss Representation then asked questions of the panelists regarding the role of women in workplaces and the opportunities to get more female and balanced representation.
