Partial Weekend Metrorail Shutdown on Red Line, Sept. 14-15

This weekend, the Red Line will operate in two segments due to track work between Grosvenor-Strathmore and Medical Center. Free shuttle buses will replace train service on the closed section of the line Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 14-15.

Red Line trains will run in two parts: one between Shady Grove and Grosvenor-Strathmore, the other between Medical Center and Glenmont. Trains between Shady Grove and Grosvenor-Strathmore will run every six minutes during the day. After 9:30 p.m., they will run every ten minutes. Trains between Medical Center and Glenmont will run every eight minutes during the day and every ten minutes after 9:30 p.m. Free shuttle buses will run between Grosvenor-Strathmore and Medical Center.

Metro crews will renew rail fasteners, repair grouts, and maintain the third rail. All other Metro lines will operate normally.
